Nevis Peak National Park
Nevis Peak National Park protects the upper forest of Nevis Peak, covering the island's high rainforest zone above the settled lower slopes.
Overview
Nevis Peak National Park is a protected upland forest zone rather than a single summit point. The park covers high, wet ground on the mountain where dense vegetation, mist, and steep terrain shape the environment.
It occupies the upper slopes of Nevis Peak above the lower districts of the island. The protected zone sits inland from both Charlestown Area and Gingerland Area, while Nevis Peak Trail is the route most directly tied to it.
This is the preserved high-forest belt of Nevis. It begins where estate roads and lower settlement patterns give way to wetter mountain ground.
