IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

This Privacy Policy explains how 869.Design ("we", "us", "our", "Operator") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use stkittsandnevis.org (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you acknowledge you have read this Privacy Policy.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Nothing in this Privacy Policy removes or limits any privacy rights you cannot legally waive under the laws of Saint Christopher and Nevis (or other applicable law). If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

1) WHO WE ARE

Operator: 869.Design
Location: Saint Christopher and Nevis
Email: [email protected]

2) WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information in three main ways: (A) information you provide, (B) information collected automatically, and (C) information from third parties/service providers.

2.1 Information you provide directly

Depending on how you use the Platform, you may provide:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number (if provided), and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form)
  • Profile information: profile photo, bio, business name, website and/or social links (if provided)
  • Listing information: listing title, description, photos, prices, availability, approximate location/address you choose to publish, and any contact details you choose to display (email/phone/WhatsApp)
  • Reviews and feedback: ratings, reviews, comments, reports/complaints, and other content you submit
  • Support communications: information you provide when contacting support or reporting a listing
  • Messaging content: messages you send through the Platform messaging system (see Section 4)

2.2 Information we collect automatically

When you access or use the Platform, we may collect:

  • Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language settings, and device identifiers
  • Log and usage data: pages viewed, features used, search queries, clicks, referring/exit pages, dates/times of access, and general interactions with the Platform
  • Approximate location: inferred from IP address (we do not require precise GPS location for normal use)
  • Cookies and similar technologies used for essential functions, performance measurement, and ad measurement: as described in Section 6

2.3 Information from third parties/service providers

We may receive limited information from:

  • Hosting, security, and performance providers (to host and protect the Platform)
  • Email delivery/marketing providers (to send emails and measure delivery/open/click performance)
  • Other Users (for example, if they mention you in a review or report)

3) HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use personal information for the following purposes:

3.1 To operate the Platform

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Publish and display Listings and User Content you choose to submit
  • Provide core Platform functions (search, filters, categories, dashboards)
  • Enable on-site messaging between Users (see Section 4)
  • Respond to support requests and listing reports
  • Send essential service communications (e.g., password resets, security notices, listing moderation/status updates, inquiry notifications)

3.2 Analytics and performance measurement

We use server-side logs and limited first-party measurement data to understand how the Platform is used and to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.

  • Measure page views, traffic sources, clicks, search activity, and feature usage
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability
  • Understand which pages, features, and content are most useful
  • Measure the performance of ads, promoted placements, and marketing efforts

3.3 To run and measure ads on the Platform (first-party ads)

The Platform displays advertisements and promoted placements managed by us (for example, sponsored listings, banner ads, or other placements). To operate and measure these ads, we may:

  • record ad impressions (when an ad is displayed)
  • record ad clicks (when an ad is clicked)
  • measure conversions in a basic way (for example, whether a click leads to a page view)
  • detect invalid traffic or abuse (fraud prevention)

This ad measurement may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and/or tracking parameters in links (see Section 6). We use this information to understand ad performance, improve placement, prevent abuse, and provide reporting to advertisers.

3.4 Marketing and updates (including email tracking pixels)

We may send newsletters, updates, and promotional communications as permitted by applicable law. Where consent is required, we will request it (for example, via an opt-in checkbox).

Email analytics: Our marketing and newsletter emails may include:

  • tracking pixels (to understand whether an email was opened), and/or
  • tracked links (to understand whether links were clicked)

You can opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. You can also reduce or block email open tracking by disabling image loading in your email client (note: some email apps handle this differently).

3.5 To protect the Platform and Users

  • Detect, prevent, and investigate suspected fraud, scams, abuse, spam, and security incidents
  • Enforce our Terms & Conditions and policies
  • Protect the rights, safety, and property of the Operator, Users, and the public
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

4) PLATFORM MESSAGING

4.1 Messages are stored on our systems

Messages sent through the Platform messaging system are stored on our servers. The Platform is not an end-to-end encrypted messaging service.

4.2 Limited authorised access

We do not routinely read private messages. However, authorised staff may access message content when reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to user reports, support requests, or disputes
  • investigate fraud, scams, harassment, threats, or policy violations
  • maintain, troubleshoot, or secure the messaging system
  • comply with legal obligations or lawful requests

4.3 Automated scanning

We may use automated tools to detect spam, phishing, malware, or policy violations.

4.4 Practical warning

Do not share highly sensitive personal information via Platform messages (e.g., passwords, banking details, or full identity documents).

5) HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

5.1 Public information on the Platform

Some information is public by design. For example:

  • Listings you post (including photos, description, and the location/contact details you choose to publish)
  • Reviews and comments you submit
  • Profile information you choose to make visible

IMPORTANT: Public content may be visible to anyone, may be shared by others, and may be indexed by search engines. Do not post personal information you do not want public.

5.2 With other Users

We share information with other Users only as needed for Platform functionality (for example, showing the contact details you chose to publish in your Listing, or showing your name/profile when you message someone).

5.3 With service providers

We use third-party providers to help operate the Platform (such as hosting, security monitoring, email delivery/marketing, and database/storage services). These providers may process information on our behalf and are expected to protect it and use it only to provide services to us.

5.4 Ad reporting to advertisers (aggregated / non-identifying where possible)

We may provide advertisers with performance reporting about their ads (for example, impressions, clicks, general location at country/island level, device type, or similar analytics). We aim to share this reporting in aggregated or non-identifying form where reasonably possible.

If you choose to contact an advertiser directly (for example, by emailing or calling a number shown on an ad or listing), that communication is between you and the advertiser.

5.5 Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with law, regulation, court order, or lawful request
  • enforce our Terms & Conditions
  • detect or prevent fraud or security issues
  • protect the rights, safety, or property of the Operator, Users, or the public

5.6 Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6) COOKIES, PIXELS, AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

6.1 What these technologies are

  • Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
  • Pixels are small pieces of code or tiny images that help measure activity (for example, email opens or page/ad views).
  • Similar technologies (local storage, tags, scripts, and tracking parameters) can also be used to measure performance, improve services, and support security or functionality.

6.2 What we use them for

We may use cookies/pixels/tags for:

  • Essential functionality (security, login/session management)
  • Performance measurement and understanding Platform usage
  • Ad measurement (counting impressions/clicks, improving ad performance, preventing abuse)
  • Email measurement (open/click tracking for newsletters/marketing emails)

6.3 Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect Platform functionality, and disabling analytics cookies may reduce our ability to measure and improve the Platform.

If you want to reduce email open tracking, you can disable image loading in your email client (where supported).

We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

7) INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS (HOSTING OVERSEAS)

The Platform is operated by a business located in Saint Christopher and Nevis, but we may host the Platform and store/process data using service providers located in other countries (including the United States).

This means your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your home country. We take reasonable steps to use reputable service providers and to protect information using appropriate security measures.

8) DATA RETENTION

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:

  • operating the Platform
  • security and fraud prevention
  • resolving disputes
  • complying with legal obligations
  • maintaining backups

Typical examples (may vary depending on circumstances):

  • Account information: retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure
  • Listings and public content: retained while active; archived copies may remain for operational, safety, fraud-prevention, or legal reasons
  • Messages: retained for a reasonable period for safety, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and legal compliance
  • Logs/analytics: retained for reasonable periods for security and performance analysis

Backups: Deleted information may remain in backups for a limited period until backups cycle out.

9) YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Access: request a copy of personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: request deletion of your account and certain personal information (subject to lawful retention needs)
  • Objection/Restriction: object to or restrict certain processing in some cases
  • Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe from promotional emails

To exercise rights or make a request, contact: [email protected]

We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

10) CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Platform is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

11) DATA SECURITY

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for any activity under your account.

12) THIRD-PARTY LINKS

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review third-party privacy policies before providing information to them.

13) CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a new version and updating the "Last Updated" date. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice (such as a notice on the Platform).

Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Platform.
