Windward Beach
Windward Beach is an exposed east-side beach on Nevis where Atlantic surf, rugged scenery, and light development define the experience.
Overview
Windward Beach sits on the east side of Nevis in Saint George Gingerland, near the Indian Castle and Red Cliff stretch of coast. It belongs to the island's Atlantic-facing shoreline rather than to the calmer Caribbean side used for most resort beach days.
The water is typically rougher here, with more direct wind and surf than on Nevis's western beaches. That makes the area better suited to scenery and shoreline walks than to easy casual swimming.
Facilities are limited, and the coast feels largely natural rather than organized for high visitor traffic. The appeal is the sense of exposure, the dramatic shoreline, and the contrast with the quieter west-coast beaches.
